The day of reflection has come.

When we sit and think about the road that Jesus walked that day,  we can feel the anguish and the total confusion His followers felt – not only were they experiencing the loss of a magnificent friend, but for a time – they also experienced a loss in their faith.

They couldn’t understand the why.

Much like we don’t when we lose someone we love, but yet, our hope tells us – there’s a reason for everything, even when we can’t see it, and on that day they looked upon not only their friend, but yes – their Lord and Savior and God was silent.

They heard nothing but the sounds of pain and agony around them – their faith was shaken.

If  we close our eyes right now, we too can see Him hanging there – all powerful and totally capable of getting off of that cross if He wanted to and rewritten the whole story right then and there.

But no, He chose not to do so – He was on a mission to save the world from itself, so yes, He took our mess and our sins on His very shoulders so that we could have a relationship with God through Him.

He took the beating, He wore the crown of thorns, He carried that crossbeam through the narrow streets to Golgatha – where He was crucified while suffering the most excruciating death possible, until every last breath He had in Him was gone.

So no, we can’t imagine anything was good about that day, for you see – he end of the Book had not yet been written, His followers that day were sad and heartbroken, their very hope had died.

However – we are blessed in knowing the end of the story, and yes –  as we remember our loss , we also celebrate our  gain – for Love Himself  walked that walk for each and every one of us, so that yes – we may fully live.

Unconditional and unapologetic Love

We are loved by Love Himself.  He loves us big and He loves us strong, and yes – love wins period

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life”
