Christmas is in the air – in spite of the 2020 that’s hit us, we’ll still find the trees are up, the lights are lit, and yes, the sales are flowing.

Like so many years before, and most especially this year in particular – we must stay mindful of the fact, that yes, there are many who have an empty chair at the table during this season because of the loss of a loved one.

And yes, if these days aren’t already difficult enough, those looking at that empty chair are finding them very dark and hard – that first birthday, that first thanksgiving, that first Christmas – that first everything, can be so very callous.

Oh but then, we have the other side – that someone in the chair we really wish was somewhere else – while for others it’s a time of just plain loneliness, the simple reflection of the past year can be overwhelmingly emotional for others.

We spend hours and hours attempting to create the perfect Christmas – when in just a few seconds by “one” cutting word, over something really stupid – the whole day can be totally squashed.

However, no matter where we are and who we’re with – what we must remember is simply – emotions run high, especially this time of year.  And yes, we can always count on them to be dependable. Like the up and down of a roller coaster, life itself is a series of valleys and mountains – ever changing throughout the seasons.

Yet, there’s one thing that never changes – God’s Word – It’s sure, and yes, restoring to our soul.

So, when those emotions arise, as we know they will – we look to Him and His Word for that firm foundation we so desperately need.

This is the time of year to celebrate!

The truth is – baby Jesus in the manger is not a warm and fuzzy story for our children.  He is a strong fortress for us to cling to – that child born in a manger, He’s the Savior of the world, and yes, He loves us and is ours.

He so far exceeds all our expectations, and yes, He totally, one hundred percent fulfills all of His promises – He is the reason for all our Christmas to do lists – the very cause for our rejoicing.

It’s when He gets lost in the shuffle, that those blues will set in, and friends, we simply cannot let that happen – too much going on this year to fall in another trap of the enemy.

So yes, let’s get ourselves up, and yes, let’s get a drink from the living well that is and will forever be – what keeps us well in our soul, with joy in our heart – not just at Christmastime, but yes, every single day of the year.

We are loved by love Himself.  He loves us big and He loves us strong, and yes .. love wins period

“Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’  John 7:38
