Today is my mom’s birthday .. she would have been 86 .. haha .. doesn’t seem very old as time makes it’s way across my own life .. I miss her this year more than ever .. she was my confidant .. my best friend .. and yes .. the only one .. haha .. besides God .. that knew me through and through .. and yes .. in spite of it all .. still loved me like I had no flaws at all .. I guess this why He made mothers .. He knew we would need that one person .. who would love us and care for us .. even when we didn’t deserve it .. she was special in so many ways for so many reasons .. and yes .. her love was big and bold .. I’m grateful to have had her for my mom .. and yes .. like most of us .. I have regrets that cannot be changed now that she’s gone .. however .. I know my mom and she would be furious if I carried regrets and didn’t turn them into something that may help someone else like me .. so here it is .. simply put .. “the past is the past .. don’t turn back .. do not carry anything any farther than today .. let it go .. and yes .. be the person that He wants us all to be .. loving .. gentle but firm .. and yes .. always kind” .. that was my mom .. that is me .. and yes .. that is you .. haha .. so now .. with memory in tow .. our little family will take our annual trip to P’cola beach where I grew up .. we’ll watched the Blue Angels fly like I have done hundred of times in my life .. and yes .. I will remember the days of playing under the pier .. flirting with the lifeguards .. and yes .. lathering ourselves in baby oil and iodine .. haha .. for the truth is .. memories can take us to a time and place of happiness .. and yes .. even sorrow .. however .. it’s the happy memories we hang on to .. the not so good ones .. we chalk up as lessons along the road .. we use them to be better than we were yesterday .. for yes sweet friends .. we are loved by love Himself .. and that .. is the biggest and bestest love we will ever know .. so yes .. happy birthday mom .. and yes .. thank you for sharing His love .. for yes .. always and forever .. haha .. oh yeah .. love wins period
