Father’s Day .. a day to celebrate Dad! .. as I sit here and think about my own life and my own father .. I must say .. and yes .. this is coming from a daughter who was estranged from her dad numerous times in her life .. “being a father is one of the toughest jobs in the world” .. haha .. especially being a good father .. with sadness I must say I lost my dad at an early age of adulthood .. I was a young mother and it was a tough time for us all .. however .. as I’ve come to truly understand and appreciate over the years .. is that with everything in life .. there’s a time and a purpose for what we go through .. in this case .. after my dad passed .. I had my first true encounter with Father God .. and yes .. it was .. and yes .. it still is exciting .. as I began to push through Scriptures .. and no .. not run away .. I found that He’s truly unlike any dad I’ve ever known .. for no .. He isn’t coming home mad and waiting to lecture or punish me .. no way .. He’s waiting patiently for us to come home .. to yes .. shower us with His mercy .. and yes .. with His grace .. and yes .. although I’ve strayed over the years .. for no .. it’s not always been easy .. and yes .. some of it .. haha .. has been a downright scar .. it doesn’t matter .. for the truth is .. His glorious fatherhood should be .. and yes .. can be that great lighthouse that draws us in from the dark storms and raging seas .. so yes .. today on this glorious day .. as we celebrate not only our earthly father .. we celebrate our Heavenly Father as well .. and yes .. it’s time to step up to the helm .. make the move .. and yes .. turn this ship and go full throttle to the shore .. while yes .. allowing Him to be the beacon that draws us safely into harbor .. and no .. not the waves that keep us lost at sea .. for yes .. it’s time to go home to where it’s safe .. and yes .. where Love Himself resides .. for yes .. again and again and again .. haha .. oh yeah .. love wins period
