We all build strongholds to protect ourselves. We get hurt by something or someone, so yes, we withdraw and build a big wall of protection so we don’t have to feel the pain.
Then, we get hurt again and our wall gets taller and stronger. Before we know it we have this huge tower to hide in, and then, before we know it, it turns into a huge fortress with only one gate to enter. Of course we keep it closed when we feel threatened, which in turn effects our standing with God, for the truth is, by protecting our wrong attitudes, our wrong thoughts, and yes, our wrong feelings, we’re in turn, closing our communication with Him.
Oh but thankfully, unlike the enemy who will enter any way possible to destroy us, He always comes through the front door to our hearts and approaches us face on. So yes, we keep our hearts open, while all the while, allowing Him to reside in that place that keeps us safe and secure, full of hope, full of peace, and yes, full of love.
This fullness we feel, it comes from love Himself, and friends, He loves us big, and yes .. haha .. oh yeah .. love wins period
