Yesterday afternoon in the perfect setting of the Backyard of Love .. family and friends joined together to celebrate the life of a beautiful woman .. Sandy “Sam” Johnson .. as I watched as her children .. Tasha .. Kelsey and Carl so bravely said goodbye .. and yes .. heard the testimonies and stories of the mother and woman everyone knew and loved .. I realized that although Sandy’s death was too soon .. I also realized just how her life lived .. was priceless in the eyes of each of the people she touched .. she showed all of us .. in a shorter amount of time than what many take decades to teach us .. that yes .. her life was all the more valuable .. for the truth is .. while time is truly a gift given only by God’s grace .. so too is a short life .. and yes .. through her short life .. extraordinary things happened .. so no sweet friends .. we don’t ask “why” .. instead our challenge for us when we lose someone we love .. is to yes .. think about what they’ve taught us .. to think about the value they’ve added to our own lives .. for yes sweet friends .. by knowing this wonderful woman .. we that knew her are better .. and yes .. to be better is what we should all strive to be .. each .. and yes .. every waking day .. for we know .. she’s reached out and grabbed that cold knob .. she’s now standing tall and whole .. and yes .. her love and grace will live on in the lives of her children and their children alike .. we are blessed .. and yes .. we are loved .. and yes .. always and forever .. haha .. oh yeah .. love wins period
