Most all of us have experience much love in our lives – and if the truth be told – much of it being totally “conditional”
You know – the kind of love that loves as long as we perform to someone else’s expectations.
We’ve all experienced this kind of love from both Believers and non Believers – for no – there’s really no differences in the two as far as the love they’ve shown.
When I sit here and think about it – shamefully I must say that I too have shown that same kind of love to others.
However – it’s when we truly form a relationship with God – our love for others and for ourselves changes as well. It’s when we really “get” the full picture of how remarkable and accessible and totally “unconditional” His love really is – that yes – we want to feel the same way toward everyone we meet – we want to share it and we want to shout about it – simply because – we want to be more like Him as each day passes.
Our new life with Him gives us a fullness we can’t find anywhere else – and no – it doesn’t come laced and smelling of perfume. Jesus Himself began His earthly life in a smelly damp stable – He tasted real life and that is the flavor of our journey with Him today – no magic – just the promise of His very presence day in and day out.
And now – our faith rests in Him and His unconditional and life changing love – which brings us back around to what we know that we know that we know.
We are loved by love Himeself. He loves us big and He loves us strong, and yes – love wins period
“In this the love of God was made manifest among us that God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through Him In this is love – not that we loved God but that he loved us” 1 John 4:9-10
