Old wounds, we all have them, and no, we can’t deny they are there.
If we get angry when talking about something from the past or someone that hurt us, it’s a good indicator that there’s a significant wound that has not been healed. So yes, we admit it, we unpack all of it, and yes, we figure out why it happened by thinking about its significance and why it cut within so deep.
Unhealed wounds have a way of creating a distorted lens through which we view the world, in which we view our friends, in which we view our family, and yes, particularly in which we view ourselves. We have to look deep within to see if the things we believe about ourselves and others are grounded in an unbiased truth or whether or not our view is simply distorted.
The truth is, our view can create insecurities in us that are not founded in truth, and yes, will cause us to keep people at a distance. So yes, we seek God’s help in thinking through the answers, while asking Him to help us see what we need to see to bring us back to love.
We’re all only human, we hurt and we get hurt. However, we’re loved by love Himself, and yes, His love will carry us through any hurt, any pain or any illusion we may have in our mind that keeps us from moving forward.
Love always brings us back to the ground where we need to stand, for yes, He is love, and yes .. haha .. oh yeah .. love wins period
“So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him” 1 John 4:16
