When we’ve truly forgiven, we’ll know.  We’ll know because our negative feelings will disappear and we won’t feel the same way toward the offender.

It’s in true forgiveness that we find it much easier to accept those who’ve hurt us and no longer feel the need to change them.

We become willing to accept them, just as they are.

The truth is, once the blinders of resentment have been removed from our eyes, we’ll simply have a new understanding of their situation and motivation. It’s when our concern about the offenders’ needs outweigh the concern about what they did to us, that yes, we’re able to take our eyes of ourselves, and yes,  we’re able to see the people who hurt us are people with legitimate needs of their own.

We can experience freedom from old wounds that now hold us in bondage by simply listening to God’s still small voice, for yes, He’ll give us the courage and strength to face the past, and yes, willingness to release others from the emotional debts we may feel they owe.

It’s then, and only then, that we’ll know the genuine freedom from bitterness, resentment and unforgiveness.

Friends, we serve love, for yes, God is love, and no, there’s no doubt whatsoever, that yes .. haha .. oh yeah .. love wins period
