I’m reflecting on how God often surfaces pain so that we can face reality and find true healing.
Early on and for years, I struggled through cycles of abusive relationships, feeling subconsciously that I deserved nothing more. I lived with guilt and shame, trying to understand when it all began.
Yet, I finally began to see the reality of my journey, and yes – some days I’ve been reminded – God often allows conflict and pain to motivate us to deal with the “root cause” of our destructive thoughts and habits.
His purpose is to conform us to His image, and this transformation often happens through our most painful experiences rather than just through times of success.
It’s never too late to let go of pain and see relationships restored.
I’m a grateful soul today because I choose to face the facts rather than become hard-hearted or cynical. We must understand that hurt people often hurt others, and we must choose forgiveness if we want to be released and restored to freedom.
The good news is that through Christ, we can be healed and set free from any past hurt.
Our greatest life challenges can become a powerful message of His unfailing and unconditional love.
We are loved by love Himself. He loves us big and He loves us strong, and yes – Love wins period.
“No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, ‘Know the LORD,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest,” declares the LORD. “For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”
Jeremiah 31:34
