Had a great time last night hanging with my friend Carla in P’cola. We made our little round, had an awesome Mediterranean dinner at a little place downtown called “Jordan Valley”. If you get a chance to go there you certainly should, it was sooo good, and yes, without question, we ended up at Vinyl Music Hall, and yes, danced the night away to the music of Eric Lindell. His new album “Revolution in Your Heart” is soul stirring, and yes, definitely, dance worthy. Sitting here in her living room this morning, thinking about our time together, and yes, the fun we always have. No, there’s nothing pretentious about our friendship. We’re open and direct with one another, and yes, I believe that’s a big part of what’s kept us friends through the hard times we’ve both encountered in our lives, and yes, as I think a little deeper, I realize there’s something to be said about being direct. On one hand the directness of someone can be a little brass, yet on the other hand, direct people are a joy to be around, for no, there’s no games, no bullying, no whining, just plain facts and feelings, and yes, facts and feelings are important. For the truth is, we as God’s people should be honest with one another, we should talk things through, and yes, we should listen. For yes, it’s when we run our own way with no direction that we find ourselves in trouble, we find ourselves lost, and yes, we find ourselves going in circles complaining about every little thing that pops up. Oh but friends, it’s when we find ourselves joining together with like minded people, that yes, life becomes easier for us. We become that person that sees no problems, only solutions, and then, peace takes over. For now, we’re in a place where He can real us into safety. So yes, in this life we’ve so graciously been given, we strive for honesty, we strive for directness, and yes, we strive for clarity, and yes, we do this in all our communications, always staying mindful of the fact that directness in our relationships, does indeed, begin with us. So yes sweet friends, it’s a new day, may we all be filled with joy and happiness, no matter what we’re facing, for it’s good to be alive, and yes, it’s a good way to live, and yes, it always boils down to love, love for God, love for one another, and yes, love for ourselves .. for yes .. haha .. oh yeah.. love wins period
