Gentleness, such a calming word to live by, and no, being gentle doesn’t mean being weak – it simply means strength under control, which in turn allows us to be tender.
Think about God – how big and vast and powerful He truly is, yet He treats us with the utmost of tenderness and care. So yes, gentleness allows us to be caring and nurturing to others.
It helps us to stay calm without escalating problems or pushing people’s buttons. We’re made to build each other up while allowing them to grow.
And friends, this means being selfless, for the truth is, when we’re too full of pride, we can’t be gentle with others. We can’t be the friend they need – more than likely all we’ll do is hurt them while pushing them away, when chances are, just like us, they simply need a listening ear.
So no, we won’t go to the ones filled with pride. We’re drawn to someone who is gentle.
We’re called to be gentle – it’s when we allow ourselves to be gentle in all that we do and in all that we say, that we become who we’re meant to be, imitators of His love.
We are loved by love Himself. He loves us big and He loves us strong, and yes – love wins period
“With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love.” Ephesians 4:2
