Today is Bob’s Birthday. He’s my husband and friend. Most know him these days as “Pop Bob”. He loves God, and yes, he loves his family. He’s a quiet man, and yes, we know that we know that we know, we’re important to him.
Without a doubt, he loves our granddaughters like crazy. He’s so kind and gentle. When he speaks to them, it’s with a humble heart full, packed full of love You can see the joy in his face, simply at a mention of their name.
He’s taught me soooo many things over the years. Some of which I’ve fought, and yes, some of which I’ve clung to like a dryer sheet coming out of the heat. He’s has a kind and gentle way, He doesn’t say much about anything or anyone, and yes, he’s always allowed me to be me, even when me, is not always me. haha .. which has me thinking.
Thinking about how we must continually be mindful not to give way to criticism, blame, scorn or judgment of others when we’re trying to help them, for no, we can’t help others if we can’t control ourselves.
So yes, we keep a tight rein on our own emotions and a firm foundation of spiritual living that truly makes us humble.
If we’re going to help anyone, we should go easy on them and hard on ourselves, for yes, this is the way God can use us the most, to yes, uplift a despairing spirit.
We must never seek personal recognition for how He uses us to get His will accomplished.
The truth is, each and everyone of us, no matter the difference in appearance, are yes, made in God’s mage, and yes, He is love, so yes, if He is love and we’re imitators of His love, then yes, we’re in pretty darn good shape,
So yes, with all the love in my heart, “Happy Birthday Pop Bob!’ Thank you for your ways, and yes, for reminding me, over and over and over again, that yes, through your love for Jesus and your love for all of us, that yes .. haha .. oh yeah .. love wins period.
