Many of us have the wrong idea about humility, or if you will, being “humble”.
We think being humble means to grovel in front of others, while yes, thinking they’re no good and we’re better.
However, make no mistake, that’s not what God’s Word says. No, He says when we’re humble, we’re free from pride, and yes, we’re free from arrogance. We simply know, that yes, in our flesh we are inadequate, yet, we know who we are in Him.
So no,we don’t have to defend ourselves when we understand just what His Word tells us, for yes, it’s plain and simple.
We know who we are in Him, and yes, we can be a peacemaker without needing to fight for our rights, and yes, we can walk humbly in His power, but no,not in our own strength.
Godly humility is being comfortable with who we are in Him, therefore, we naturally put others first, for yes, this is the mark of strength that’s so well described in His Word.
Being humble does not make us weak, being humble makes us strong, and yes, if makes us whole.
The simple fact of “knowing” that we can’t truly succeed in our own strength means we’re thanking Him for all our talents and gifts, while yes, continuously giving Him credit for our accomplishments.
It means being comfortable in who we are in Him, while yes, seeking to build others up and never ourselves. It means gratefully walking in His grace, in His love, and yes, in His forgiveness.
Think about it, Jesus Himself gave us the prime example of humility in action, and yes, although He was the Son of God, He was gentle, He was humble, and yes, He was strong.
So yes, in knowing this truth, let’s enjoy the power we have by being humble. For the truth is, we’ll find ourselves to be more successful when we imitate Him while following His written instructions, than yes, we’ll ever be if we’re pushy and arrogant.
Bottom line, even if we don’t reach the results we hoped for, we’ll always have the joy and pleasure of knowing, that yes, we acted in a manner pleasing to Him. It’s when we truly understand the meaning of humility that’s set forth in His Word and then put it into practice, that yes, we’ll simply find .. even when we don’t win, we do win.
We are loved by love Himself. He loves us big and He loves us strong, and yes .. love wins period
“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves” Philippians 2:3
