“Grief never ends but it does change – It’s a passage and not a place to stay – grief is not s sign of weakness – nor a lack of faith – It’s the pure price of love”
I read this quote and it struck my heart – our daughter in law Cortney recently lost her grandmother, the funeral was last Saturday. She’s been in Memphis spending time with her granddaddy (Frank) as he moves about after 73 years of marriage without his wife.
That alone tells us how difficult it must be for him. That’s a lot of years of loving, talking and working together to create a life that is now a cherished memory – not only is it a cherished memory to Grandaddy and the family – but to the entire community.
What a beautiful testimony to God and His love for us – to have two people love one another for so many years – and in the end – trusting that when the time comes – they’ll be welcomed in the arms of Jesus – and yes – reunited together in the heavenly realm – both standing tall and whole.
And from this – the one thing we as outsiders watching in can know and trust, is simply – “when we truly care about the well-being of others – the greater is our own sense of well-being”
Please pray for Grandaddy and his precious family – the days ahead are changed forever – however, the love within will do nothing but grow deeper as the memories take hold – and yes – pushes us all through.
We are loved by love Himself. He loves us big and He loves us strong, and yes – love wins period.
“For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s”. Romans 14:8
