This was taken from one of my previous writings .. it’s ironic how the truth to us .. becomes more and more important with more and more meaning as we grow older .. and yes .. how that same truth has changed so many lives along the way .. for yes .. it’s Independence Day .. and yes sweet friends .. we have been blessed with the longest ongoing Constitutional Republic in the history of the world .. and no .. these blessings are not accidental .. no .. they’ve come straight from the hand of God .. for yes .. it was on July 2, 1776 that Congress voted to approve a complete separation from England .. while two days later .. the early draft of the Declaration of Independence was signed .. and yes .. four days later the members of Congress took the document and read it out loud from the steps of Independence Hall .. loudly proclaiming it to the city of Philadelphia as they rang the Liberty Bell .. and yes .. on the top of that bell we find the inscription from Leviticus 25:10 .. which boldly states .. “Proclaim liberty throughout the land and to all the inhabitants thereof” .. yes .. Independence for all .. and these principles on which they were achieved were based on the principles of Christianity .. they all knew that this Declaration would be celebrated by future generations .. over and over again as the “Great Anniversary Festival” .. for you see .. at the time only about 17 percent of the country .. compared to the 83% today .. claimed to be Believers .. haha .. and yes .. out of that .. 27 of the 56 Founding Fathers were trained as Ministers .. and friends .. we can believe they took their pledge seriously .. for the Declaration of Independence is the birth certificate for this very nation .. now think about this .. on the morning of the signing .. there was silence and gloom as each man was called up to the table of the President of Congress to sign the document .. knowing full well .. that it could mean their death by hanging .. yet .. these brave men followed their hearts as God had instructed them to do .. and yes .. that’s big .. so yes .. what we must remember today is simple .. the Founding Fathers have passed the torch to us and it’s our responsibility to never let it go out .. so amidst the fireworks and celebrations of this day .. let’s all pause for a moment with a grateful heart .. and yes .. reflect upon this fact .. the country we live in today started with God .. and yes .. with the Founders’ belief in our rights .. which yes .. are His gift to each and every one of us .. and yes .. with that we can stand tall and firm and shout .. haha .. oh yeah .. love wins period.
“For you were called to freedom .. brothers .. only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh .. but through love .. serve one another”
