Enabling is something I’m learning to no longer be good at – it’s been a long process – however, now that I truly understand it – I’m learning to let go.
And yes – the overwhelming sense of responsibility makes it hard to do so – yet, we have to let go in order to allow others to take responsibility for their own behavior and their own problems.
The solution to this quicksand, if you will – is found in the simple understanding of what God says about our relationships with others and about who He is – and yes – about who we are.
No one is responsible for the action of others.
We all know that letting go is hard – it’s when we understand clearly that He is the Great Shepherd, and yes – that He does His job well – it’s then and only then – that it makes it possible to let go and give it all to Him.
He will love us through to where we need to be
We are loved by love Himself. He loves us big and He loves us strong, and yes – love wins period
“I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people” Ephesians 1:17-18
