Meekness and Humilty in this world we now live – is yes – often mistaken for weakness – however- the opposite is true.
Those who humble themselves show great strength.
Jesus Himself was approachable, lowly, and humble. He was a servant – yet He was powerful.
Meekness and Gentleness are somewhat similar – however – gentleness mainly involves our actions – whereas – meekness involves our attitude as well as our actions.
So yes, as we feast today on this Fat Tuesday – moving into the Lenten season on Ash Wednesday – we must stay mindful to remember – during Lent we’re simply practicing self-denial, giving to others, and repenting of our sins – things we should be doing every day of the year.
For yes – these are all ways to cultivate humility – basically, we focus less on ourselves and more on others – and from there – we turn to God seeking His grace to help us become more virtuous with each passing day.
We are loved by love Himself. He loves us big and He loves us strong, and yes – love wins period
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10
