I use the visuals of chains being broken and the freedom that it brings – when we simply forgive.
Forgiveness – it’s powerful.
Although it may seem to be a choice – God’s been very clear about it and His instructions are specific.
Forgive – it’s not a decision that we need to think about – there’s not one sin more grievous to Him than another, and no, there’s not one sin committed against us that deserves forgiveness and another that does not.
He’s simply saying that it’s in our own best interest to forgive.
No – He’s not talking about what’s in the best interest of the other person – we’re the ones He’s trying to protect and we’re the ones who receive the most benefit from forgiveness – as most of us have learned – a spirit of unforgiveness compromises our daily walk with Him.
So yes, by forgiving others we’re released from our anger – allowing us to receive the healing we all so desperately seek in our lives. He doesn’t want anything to stand between us and Him – His love for us is beyond our comprehension – forgiving others spares us from the agony of living our lives with an unforgiving heart.
Friends – God doesn’t want us to be in bondage to forgiveness – He wasnts us free from all bondage’s – simply because – He loves us.
It truly is – an act of the will .
We are loved by love Himself. He loves us big and He loves us strong – and yes – love wins period
“Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:31-32
