I’m grateful to have an eclectic group of people in my life – this picture of an old abandoned movie theatre was taken by one of my eclectic friends – @shellyswangerphotography – sent to me to remind us all – who Jesus really is.

So yes, when we surround ourselves with such a group of wonderful people – it gives us all a chance to learn and grow.

How boring it would be to all to be the same, and God knew this – so He made us all different

Oh, it’s nice to be “like-minded” – however, it’s never nice to be “judgemental or shunned” because we’re not. We are called, each and everyone of us – to love one another “in spite of and not because of” and that’s it.

Jesus said “follow me” – He didn’t say to follow people.

So we get our mindset on Him and we move through life doing as He directs us to do – we’re not all the same nor are we all called to be the same.

We are all simply called – to love those who cross our paths – and yes – to love them all alike.

Love doesn’t mean allowing people to hurt us or take from us to the point we can no longer hurt or give. There comes a time when we have to let go and let Him work it out – and that’s okay.

I’ve never understood why it is that people feel we must have the same beliefs and opinions to accept and love one another. Think about it – if we don’t hang out with those who don’t know Him – who’s going to show them His love.

If we don’t love our Believing brothers and sisters – despite having opposing political and social views – how can we ever expect to look like Him – I mean after all – we are made in His image.

So yes – having a diverse and eclectic group of friends will not only prepare us for what’s coming – but it will also show our commitment to the many sided and endlessly creative Creator in whom we do follow.

We can never fear or avoid the differences of others. On the contrary – we are to embrace and love them just as He embraces and loves us.

Jesus is Love and Not Hate

We are loved by love Himself. He loves us big and He loves us strong, and yes – love wins period.

“Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God” Romans 15:7
