Assumption is the belief that something is true without proof – based on perceived circumstances or runaway thoughts.
It gives way to deeper speculation in spite of firm evidence – forming a position through an engaged mental process.
Once this position is formed it becomes truth to us – regardless of it’s accuracy.
All this inner turmoil can be avoided when we call on God when in trouble.
Trouble – simply being anything that robs us of our peace or faith.
The key is to stay in a place of communion – avoiding the schemes of the enemy – which yes – only leads to discouragement and an accusatory spirit.
Thoughts allowed to run rampant and unchecked affect our will and emotions – causing actions harmful in any given situation – the more a negative process is followed – the less we trust Him – relying on our own abilities and intuitions.
And no – this never works for the good. So we stay encouraged, for yes – God sees our troubles before they arrive – poised to defend us and to meet any need from on high.
Let’s meditate on that significance as we move through our days.
