Here we go again, entering into a brand new year. The older we get, the faster they come, and yes, the faster they go. The past, simply left behind in the wind.
The whole concept of leaving the past behind and moving on is something we all struggle with. The truth is, more than anything else, we can’t seem to let it all go and realize, that no, we don’t have to burden ourselves with that incredible heavy load. Holding on to it so tightly, brings on the basic human fear of the unknown. It’s so much easier to use the past as an excuse not to face the present, rather than, look forward to the future while leaving it all behind.
Leaving our old self represents the thing we fear the most, “change”.
What we have to understand, is simply, the past doesn’t define us, no way, it shapes our views, our aspirations and our thoughts, that yes, have led us to where we are today.
In a sense, we owe the past more than the spite and anger it typically receives. We owe it respect .
I don’t know about you, but for me, there’s much about my past that I’m not really proud of. Yet,at the same time, it’s taught me more than any text book or any person ever could. So yes, we simply trust God to help us interpret things in a way that makes them a productive source of knowledge in our lives as we move forward.
Now, with our mindset on respecting the last year enough to give it the time, to yes, teach us what He wants us to be in 2019, we’re ready to roll. We’re ready to shed His light and love, for yes, the ending has always been the same.
We know that we know that we know, God is love, and yes, year after year after year .. haha .. oh yeah .. love wins period
Happy New Year Eve Everybody!
“Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me His own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus”
