On the Ninth Day of Christmas, My True Love Gave to Me –
“Nine Ladies Dancing“
These nine dancers represent the gifts known as – the fruit of the Spirit.
The fruits are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Believers believe that the 12 days of Christmas mark the amount of time it took after the birth of Jesus for the magi, or wise men, to travel to Bethlehem for the Epiphany – when they recognized Jesus as the son of God.
With Christmas as the first day, every one of these 12 days – celebrates a different saint
So yes – as we walk through these twelve days – let us stay mindful to remember the reason for the walk. Let us stay mindful to remember that the gift of the fruit of the Spirit has been given to each and everyone of us.
What we decide to do with this gift is strictly up to each of us. We can use it for good in all we do and in all we say. We can make another persons day a day to remember, that yes – kindness, caring and love indeed exists in each and everyone of us – when we choose to make it our days work.
Come on now – it’s the second day of a new year – let’s get to work.
