On the Tenth Day of Christmas, My True Love Gave to Me:
Ten Lords a-leaping.
This is probably the easiest gift to understand – as lords were judges and in charge of the law – this code for the Ten Commandments was fairly straightforward to those who Believed.
The tenth commandment states in simple terms that – we should not covet ( yearn) for anything or anyone outside of what is ours – the two tens together equal – freedom to love one another, as we are – as God loves us.
Yet – we constantly find those who want to be like someone else or act like something they aren’t – do nothing but hinder themselves and become toxic to the ones around them.
We certainly need to be ourselves, however – when we clearly see where we need to work on ourselves – we simply do it. We stop the abuse that we bring on those around us, as well as that we bring within.
Whether we have physically, mentally or verbally abused someone – whether to their face or through texts and emails – we can trust that God is able and willing to forgive.
He is able to change hearts – His truth is just as valid for those who have verbally or physically abused as it is for those who have been abused.
Some may abuse others because they have not recognized their own need for God – Others may become abusers because they have been abused.
No matter the impulsiveness for the abuse – God can reveal truth, extend forgiveness, bring about necessary healing, and cause change.
Any kind of abuse is serious and it’s an insult to God – any form of abuse denies the dignity of those made in God’s image.
God is not and never will be unconcerned for its victims
We are loved by love Himself. He loves us big and He loves us strong, and yes – love wins period
“Drive out a scoffer, and strife will go out, and quarreling and abuse will cease” Proverbs 22:10
