My son tells me all the time that my expections of others are too high – people don’t always do what they should do. I say my expectations of others are only what I know they are capable of doing.

Thinking about it – I guess we’re both right.

Sometime, we have our minds so set on our expectation – that we can’t see the truth of Jesus standing right in front of us – it was the attainment of all the prophecies, but yet – because He didn’t look like what they were expecting – they rejected Him.

When things don’t line up with our expectations, our default response is to reject – it simply doesn’t fit. Me – I get it in my mind that I just don’t see how it’s going to work – I can’t calculate this – so yes – I end up frustrated, hurt and even afraid.

However, it’s in those moments – God humbly reminds me that regardless of whether my expectations are met, I can trust that His purpose will prevail – and that yes – His purpose is greater than any and all of my expectations.

We are loved by love Himself. He loves us big and He loves us strong, and yes – love wins period

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose” Romans 8:28
