It’s the Third Day of Christmas, symbolizing – the Feast of Saint John – and those three French Hens, they symbolize “Faith Hope and Love”
St John, and apostle and evangelist along with his brother, James – were called “sons of thunder” in the gospels – maybe they had loud thundering voices or were known to have bold personalities. Whatever the reason, Jesus saw something in these two as He invited them to become His disciples.
John certainly had faith – he definitely was a man of hope, and yes – he loved.
He loved Jesus as the Messiah and he loved Him as his friend – his relationship with Jesus really is a model for us today.
For us as Believers we call Jesus our beloved – and yes – He calls us the same. What a wonderful feeling to know that we have a Savior and Friend – walking beside us anywhere and everywhere we go.
All we have to do is speak His name and He’s here to comfort us – love us – and direct us. There is no secret in the fact, that our faith in Him, is what carries us through, for yes – He the hope we carry in our souls and He is the love of our lives
So today, let us thank our Heavenly Father for this truth – for giving us faith, which gives us hope, and allows us to see His love carried out in every aspect of our lives.
Lord – help us all to remember how love came down at Christmas, and yes – He is what gives us that hope, and yes, He is who strengthens our faith.
Bottom line – we are loved by love Himself. He loves us big and He loves us strong, and yes – love wins period
“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love” 1 Corinthians 13:13
