Yesterday was a busy day in our catering kitchen. Being most people are off, and or, travelling this week to visit family, three of our brides were in town, so yes, we had three tastings back to back. Mind you, when you come to a GBC tasting, you need to come hungry as our chefs bring on the food.
That being said, we all left full and it was a beautiful day, filled with excitement for the weddings ahead.
Afterward, Melinda and I headed to Pier Park, it’s Christmas week and we need to finish up our shopping. Haha, we spent a whole lot of time looking, and yes, a lot less time buying. Nothing seemed to fit what we were looking for, so yes, we turned around and came home.
As I sit here this morning, thinking about the trip over, and yes, how exhausting it was, my mind has shifted, and now, I’m thinking about our neighbors to the east, and yes, how some are still without homes during this holiday with needs that we can help fill.
I’m thinking about Mary and Joseph and their trip through the Judean desert, and yes, how it would have taken place during the winter, just like now, yet totally different .
Imagine this, it applies to not only Mary and Joseph, but to our neighbors to the east today.
It’s cold during the day with rain falling down, and yes, it’s nasty and it’s miserable, while at night the freezing temperatures are almost unbearable. To protect themselves, these days we wear down, however, they would likely have worn heavy woolen cloaks constructed to shed the rain and snow. Under their cloaks the ancient residents wore long robes, belted at the waist, tube like socks and enclosed shoes protecting their feet.
The unpaved, hilly trails, and yes, harsh weather were not the only hazards they would have faced on their journey south, but yet, they faced them totally out of obedience, to yes, bring us our Hope, “the Messiah”, the One who would teach us the meaning of real love, and yes, that’s huge, no matter which way or how we look at it.
So yes, in keeping with this thought process, I feel pretty silly, and yes, somewhat lazy for not wanting to deal with this ride over and the time it took to do so little. The truth is, our neighbors to the east are still unsettled with needs, and no, no trip we’ll ever have to make, will compare to what they’re going through, nor, what Mary and Joseph went through.
Mary and Joseph made that trip because God led them to do so, so that yes, His plan could be completed.
And yes sweet friends, they made that trip with no questions asked.
So now, with our mindset where it should be, let’s get up, get out, and yes, share this great love that has been given to us so freely, for no, we cannot and will not, forget our neighbors to the east, and no, we cannot and will not, ever let go of the joy of knowing how much we are loved, by yes, love Himself.
So yes, with grateful hearts, it’s again we can boldly say, that yes .. haha .. oh yeah .. love wins period
Godspeed Sweet Friends
