Tuesday of Holy Week was a busy day for Jesus – He knew what was coming, but yet, He kept moving doing what He needed to do, and yes, what He did so well – TEACH.
And wow – what a teacher He was – and yes – still is today.
Parable after Parable He taught that day – we all know the story of the fig tree that bore no fruit for years, it died withered and broken – just like our lives when we don’t do what we’re destined to do.
The truth is – we all live on borrowed time – that’s just the way it is. Just as that vineyard owner continued to grant another year of life to that withered tree – in the same way – His mercy grants us another hour, a day and yes – even years – while all the while – He stands at the door of our heart wating for us to simply let Him in.
And when we do – a sense of inner stability, soberness, tranquility and joy sets in – we become spiritually alert.
And now – watchfulness has taken over for we have the deep resolve to find and simply do – His will for our life. We now embrace every commandment and every virtue – while guarding our heart from wrongdoing.
We are now watchful – watchful for His intense love, for we know that we know that we know – it’s there for the taking all we andhave to do is – reach out and get us some.
We are loved by love Himself. He loves us big and He loves us strong, and yes – love wins period.
“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” Colossians 4:2
