As I’ve sat and watch the posts and feeds from people that most of us know who’ve traveled east to help, my heart aches. As with most things in life that hit us hard, personality, emotion, attitude and how well we cope with adversity has more to do with survival than any type of equipment. For as we’ve learned, natural disasters leave more than a path of physical destruction in their wake. They leave emotional scares for both survivors, and yes, rescue workers, for yes, it’s true, catastrophe can strike anytime and anywhere, and when it does, struggle and pain are inevitable. So yes, we do what we know we need to do, we seek God’s face, and yes, we seek His guidance, while yes, we go forth to do as we’re able to do, to help our neighbors in need, and yes, as we look in the eyes of those we meet, we share His love and we share His compassion, we let them know they’re not alone nor are they forgotten, for yes, there’s a group of human beings on the outside of their storm, waiting to come in, and yes, share His love.
Our GBC team is going over to PC tomorrow in hope to feed hundreds of people. We’re going to a community they say no one has been. They say the families in the area are so terrified that they haven’t came out of what shelter they’ve found since the storm, nor have they eaten in days, and yes, to be honest, we’re a little anxious, however, we know that we know that we know, God is with us, and yes, He will indeed open the door for us to do what He wants us to do, and friends, that’s simply to love them like Jesus, for yes .. haha .. oh yeah .. love wins period
