Friends .. again on this 4th of July .. haha .. I find myself reflecting on this magical and insightful letter that John Adams wrote to his wife .. simple .. and yes .. moving words concerning the remembrance of this wonderful day called “Independence Day” .. read it slowly .. and yes .. take in it’s true meaning .. for John .. haha .. was a wise man of God .. his words go like this ..
“I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival .. it ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance .. by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty .. it ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade .. with shows .. games .. sports .. guns .. bells .. bonfires .. and .. illuminations from one end of this continent to the other .. from this time forward forever more”
And yes .. as it’s come to pass .. let us be mindful of just how blessed we are to have a day to celebrate our freedom .. while knowing that God has established our footing .. and no .. that absolutely nothing should be confused with the freedom .. and yes .. responsibility of us all .. to yes .. love one another .. haha .. what a beautiful day it is .. let freedom ring .. for yes .. haha .. oh yeah .. love wins period!
