I was with a friend and we began talking about friendship, and yes, how we all have people in our lives that we consider friends. Some are close and some – maybe not so much so.
However, when we talk about true friendship, we’re talking about people who desire only the good for each other and who carry the same mindset.
It doesn’t count how much we give or how much we can take, nor does it live upon our changing wants and passions.
True friendship endures even the most difficult times, and yes – lives long after our initial interests have passed.
A true friend will lift us up when we’re down – listen to us when we need to be heard, and yes – will simply treat us with care and let us know without a doubt – that we are loved.
Friendships cannot be one sided – too much weight on one side can cause any structure to fall – we have to be like a see-saw, carrying the weight for each other as needed and equally doing so.
It’s the same with God – we don’t say we’re friends because He’ll make things easier for us in life – we don’t want to be His friend because of the many gifts that He can lay upon us.
No – we love Him simply for who He is – the giver of all that is good, of all that is right, and yes – of all that is just.
Be a friend and be a blessing – they come hand in hand.
We are loved by love Himself. He loves us big and He loves us strong, and yes – love wins period”
