Appreciating God’s fun-natured personality has a huge positive impact on our life and on our ministry to others.
We expect God to be a judge, holy, all-powerful, all-knowing, everywhere present, eternal, and totally loving – all this is true, however – He is also fun.
It may sound nice, but seems to diminish God’s holiness and glory – we’ve all read what many theologist have written over the years, and no – fun never really make the list.
The truth is – Bible teachers and pastors can be stuffy and wrong – the truly serious and urgent nature of their work – must truly weigh them down.
But if we read the Gospels soulfully we see that Jesus, the eternal God in human flesh – not only fulfills the standard list of divine traits, he is also happy, affectionate, surprising, playful, funny, and yes, fun.
We spent the day yesterday with our GBC Team and our granddaughters – everyone had a big time – especially skating. The laughter and the smiles on each of their faces – the excitement to know we could still do it – shows us perfectly, thay yes, God is fun, and yes – He wants us to have fun too.
So – if we’re not enjoying God’s fun side, we need to rediscover our “inner child.” and yes, have some fun!
We are loved by love Himself. He loves us big and He loves us strong, and yes – love wins period
