My True Love Gave to Me – Twelve Drummers Drumming.
The final gift is tied directly to the Catholic Church – the drummers are the 12 points of doctrine in the Apostles’ Creed.
“I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell – On the third day, he rose again. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the ressurection of the body, and life everlasting.”
Now – we wait on the Wise Men, the Three Kings to witness and bring gifts in celebration of Jesus’ birth. For it was at His birth that the star shone bright – and yes – when these men began the journey to see the Messiah.
For us – we already know the story from beginning to end. We know Jesus – we know who He is and what He does and has done for each of us, and yes – we know the joy of having Him in our heart.
Let’s share that joy, as we too celebrate – not only today – but everyday – the most precious gift of all.
