The Water Garden by Claude Monet – so incredibly beautiful with the dark shades of black, blue and green.

Rather drab standing in stark contrast to the delicate petals, but as we look closer we see they actually serve to highlight the beautiful florals which appear rich and striking upon the deep dark waters,

Monet’s painting is a reminder of the water garden of our own lives and of our God – the very Artist of our life. It encourages us that our lives do indeed have a purpose and design.

At times we find ourselves focusing too much on the dark portions of our painting – but what we must remember is – those black and gray hues are on our canvas for a reason – for you see – He uses these shadows to make our lives richer.

So yes – when we look back on difficulties, a loss of a loved one, times when we’ve been misunderstood by a friend, or yes, our expectations have been dashed – we can see His handiwork creating a brilliance of color and beauty from our pain and suffering.

Our Artist – He uses a multitude of techniques in our lives to help us become the people He created us to be.

We are reminded just like the water lilies in Monet’s masterpiece – He will always keep the leaves and petals afloat through the muck, the wind and the rain that are a part of the storms of life – water gardens survive April showers and much worse -and yes – so will we by His help and grace.

We are loved by love Himself. He loves us big and He loves us strong, and yes – love wins period
