Thinking about Mary Magdalene this morning .. her life was filled with torture .. demons filled her mind .. racked her body .. physically .. emotionally .. and .. morally .. yet Jesus Himself chose her to be the first to see Him after He arose from the tomb .. He chose her .. the outcast one .. the misunderstood one .. He spoke her name .. haha .. that .. tells us something about His glorious character .. although there are not details of her deliverance .. I’m guessing that as that crushing hold was being broken .. He looked into eyes full of unconditional pure love for God .. and from that moment on .. her life was changed .. her sole purpose was to follow Him .. yes .. He chose Mary Magdalene to be the first to see Him risen from the grave .. He wanted personally to end her bewilderment .. He waited for her .. longing to reward her single-hearted devotion and loyalty .. He was happy to see her .. for she was a love that He trusted and cherished .. oh yes .. sweet friends .. there is a reward for our faithfulness far beyond what we can comprehend .. for .. when He calls us to a life of single-hearted devotion to Him .. we need to do all we can to hold on to it .. it doesn’t matter what others think or say .. simply because .. it can’t begin to touch the wonder we will know .. when we see Him .. face to face .. and .. hear Him .. call our name .. wow .. that’s awesome .. oh yeah .. Love Wins Period​
Now when He rose early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven demons. 10 She went and told those who had been with Him, as they mourned and wept. 11 And when they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe.
