Ash Wednesday .. the beginning of Lent .. a Catholic tradition in remembrance of the 40 days Jesus spent wandering in the wilderness .. a solemn time that we as Believers .. all Believers .. are encouraged to reflect on our commitment to our faith .. although I’m not officially a Catholic .. haha .. I personally love the Lenten tradition .. the whole idea of giving something up and relying on God for strength .. and yes .. although it’s something we’ve learned to lean on everyday .. this process is still totally appealing .. however .. if we’ll really look at this tradition and allow our understanding of it to evolve .. we’ll see this season as more of a time of focusing on our faith .. and yes .. trying to live a more intentional life .. while yes .. giving up things that get in our way .. like windmill cookies and milk before bed .. haha .. so to spend more time with Him to forget our longing for what we gave up .. basically allowing Him to fill that need that we somehow fill with the substance of whatever it is we’re giving up .. our sacrifice .. haha .. oh but friends .. these sacrifices we make are nothing compared to the ultimate sacrifice that Jesus made for each of us .. for yes .. He’s the Master of sacrifice for sure .. so .. as we move through this season .. and yes .. we’re craving what we gave up .. let’s remember to stop and take that time to spend with Him .. while yes .. allowing Him to fill our heart and mind with more and more of His love .. for after all .. His love is truly what it’s all about .. and no .. none of this is about what we give up .. but yes ..it’s all about what we gain .. for we know that we know that we know .. haha .. oh yeah .. love wins period
