I’m sitting here this morning thinking about us .. and yes .. how our lives are kind of like a linen closet .. constantly in need of cleaning .. discarding .. rearranging .. and yes .. straightening .. and yes .. how inside we find that there’s always a few undesirables that need to be discarded .. you know those things like .. gossip .. yelling .. complaining .. bitterness .. worry .. pride .. and yes .. that dreaded impatience .. haha .. for yes .. we’ll find them all crammed back into the corners .. unfortunately .. like linen closets don’t straighten or clean themselves .. we can’t “by our own power” change our lives .. for yes .. to bring about a permanent change of heart .. we need more power than our tired human selves can muster up .. for the truth is .. it’s when we open the door .. and yes .. allow God’s life changing power to enter in .. that we find .. moment by moment .. and yes .. step by step .. that yes .. He begins good work in us .. that old deadwood is cut out .. discipline is applied .. and yes .. our priorities are rearranged .. haha .. and yes .. in some areas He works quickly .. while in others .. it can be painfully slow .. however .. what we have to stay mindful of is that His timing is perfect .. so yes .. we go into this new year with the closet doors to our hearts wide open .. allowing Him to exert His power while tenderly cleaning and straightening our lives .. for yes .. He is love .. and yes .. He loves us big .. which yes .. again confirms our daily mantra .. that yes .. haha .. oh yeah .. love wins period
