The story never gets old – each year as we celebrate Christmas, we are yes, reminded of the love we all share – God’s love.
Mary was pregnant, she was confused, she was bewildered, yet, overwhelmed with plain joy.
She will give birth to the Son of God. Oh what must have been going through her mind, for yes, living with this mystery, she faced some troubling questions with only faith to guide her.
Her sweet Joseph – since she was bearing a child that was not his, she had to face the anguishing shame it could bring down upon her in a small town that frowned on an unfaithful wife. Even though he had a high regard for her, it was going to be hard to explain to Joseph the mysterious act of God, and yes, an angel that no one else saw.
Oh but our God, He simply removed that threat, and yes, He had an angel appear to Joseph in a dream saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife because she has conceived by the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a Son and you will name Him Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.”
So yes, when Joseph woke, without question, he took Mary as his wife to his home, for yes, together they would do what God would have them to do.
And now, their journey begins.
